    First Place For ArtRageUS

    March 03, 2011

The team at ArtRageUS put together a visual feast for this years Mardi Gras parade held last Saturday. And all the hard work payed off with a first place in the float competition, the first year we have taken the honours.
Staff, volunteers and clients donned the costumes they had spent months preparing and boarded the truck that had been transformed into a wonderland of Australian film with decorations in the style of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Crocodile Dundee, Mad Max and Muriel’s Wedding. Following the truck was a six metre crocodile and 4 brides carrying a sign with the catch phrase “You’re Terrible Muriel”. The team didn’t seem to notice the hot and humid conditions as they danced and sang their way from 7th Street down Hugh King Drive to the finish at Nowingi Place. Whereupon we were judged to be the best float in the parade.
A special thanks goes out to Mel, Norelle, Jan and Jan who put in hours of work and creativity resulting in a stylish float and wonderful costumes. Also congratulations to the eager and energetic clients and volunteers without whom there wouldn’t have been a float at all. And let’s not forget all our faithful supporters who cheered and photographed the float all the way along.
    Well done team.
