The Christie Centre is an Adult Training & Support Service (ATSS) and supported Employment Services (SSES) which provides programs for people with disabilities. The service is situated in Mildura, the heart of Sunraysia in far northwest Victoria. Mildura is a rural district where the production of citrus, vines, wine making and tourism are the major industries. The centre services an area of some 800 SQ km.

Funding for the ATSS is received from:
  • The Victorian Department of Human Services (DHS), including the Futures for Young Adults program (FFYA)
  • The NSW Ageing and Disability Department; for students who live in NSW, and who are exiting school under the Community Participation Program.
Funding for the Supported Employment Service is received from:
  • The Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services & Indigenous Affairs (FACSIA).
Both services have written policies and procedures, which ensure compliance with the State and National Disability Service Standards. Policies are written in consultation with clients and are in plain English.

Handbooks have been developed in a user friendly format for ATSS clients and SSES workers. The handbook is aligned with the Disability Service Standards and Christie Centre Policies & Procedures. The handbook is used regularly with clients and workers.

Quality Assurance
Both the ATSS and Supported Employment Service are quality assurance accredited to ISO 9001-2000 Standards and embrace the State and National Disability Standards.
